FIVE FACTS FROM THE SOURCE (Embedded):
EX: The article cites Maria Nikolajeva, a professor of at Cambridge, as saying that Bella does not "in any way promote independent thinking or personal development" in women, instead portraying a woman "meek and willing to do anything for her vampire boyfriend" (POV).

For dancers, a "dance audition is usually what helps to determine whether a dancer has what it takes to enter the industry on a professional basis," making it a very stressful.

Many times, dancers will "attend several of them before they actually get chosen."

It is strenuous and discouraging for dancers, "each time they face rejection, they need to head back home and start the preparation process all over again."

The trick to being successul with auditions, is to "master the moves and make them your own."

Although it is hard to keep your chin up in the face of rejection, and find the motivation to kepp going, your perseverance and "Making the most of your auditions will definitely pay off one day."

Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):

The  audition process is stressful and nerve-racking. It is so easy to get discouraged and want to giive up when you get rejected by choreographers time and time again. But, the positivity and drive to push through is what sets the good dancers apart from the great. It is a tough industry, where  you are your own boss as well as employee.
Credibility of Source:
Author or Site: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the site. What is the purpose of the site? Who funds the site?

The purpose of the site is to inform dancers about the struggles of auditioning, and to encourage danceres to have perseverance, and motivation to not be discouraged.
Attachment: Does the author or site have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative? For example, is it a cigarette business posting an article about the benefit of cigarettes, or is it a scientific community unaffiliated with the cigarette business?

The author has no gain from this article, it is simply informative. If anything it is to benefit the reader.
Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?

There is a bias in that the author feels you should keep going after being rejected numerous times, as opposed to giving up.
References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility?

The author cites referenceas to very top notch dance studios in LA as well as NY, that show he/she knows what he/she is talking about.

Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?

I will use this source in my research of being a dancer and what it takes. It is also another problem a dancer faces in their career, and an example for the respectable qualities successful dancers have that deserve recognition.

EX: The article cites Maria Nikolajeva, a professor of at Cambridge, as saying that Bella does not "in any way promote independent thinking or personal development" in women, instead portraying a woman "meek and willing to do anything for her vampire boyfriend" (POV).

Although extremely physically demanding, a dancer's success is "equally based on mental capacity."

There are countless nuumbers of talented dancers, but the ones who find success in a professional career will surpass, because "it is the mind and will of the dancer that got them there."

Not only must you perform well, but you must also have  "Focus, comprehension, memorization skills and adaptation," which "are all extremely important to a dancer’s progression."

In being a dancer, your body is everything, therefore "dancers who lack certain vitamins or minerals may find it hard to concentrate! Also, a lack of fats for the brain can easily ruin a dancer’s focus (a dieting dancer can easily run into this problem); take Omega 3, Evening Primrose Oil or Flaxseed Oil supplements as well as a multi-vitamin."

A wise tip provided by the website is to "dance from the heart and head and the body will follow!"

Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):

The author of the article elaborates on the importance of mental sharpness as much as tphysical sharpness being a dancer. In being successful, you must also be smart, because your talent alone will not get you to the top. Tips are provided for mental and physical health.

Credibility of Source:
Author or Site: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the site. What is the purpose of the site? Who funds the site?

The site is called "dancehelp," so by deductive reasoning i assume it is meant to advise dancers and answer common questions. It is to inform people about dance news, tips, and forums. The site is funded by dance studios.

Attachment: Does the author or site have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative? For example, is it a cigarette business posting an article about the benefit of cigarettes, or is it a scientific community unaffiliated with the cigarette business?

No, the author has no gain from the website, it is simply to help.

Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?

I do not detect a bias because everything the author says is logical, credible, and not opinion-based.

References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility?

The author cites reference to certain health prodects and vitamins necessary for maintaining mental health. This makes it seem like the author know what he/she is talking about.

Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?

I will use this source as a means to prove successful dancers deserve respect and that they work hard for it. It is a real job with high demands.

African Americans have had a huge impact on what dance in america is today, "Without the African contribution, we would not have had American dance as we know it"

Over the years, dancers has evolved drastically from dancing "for themselves and one another," to dancing for an audience, and for money.

African movement has influenced dance styles such as "jazz, ballet...concert modern dance," "todays hip hop and freestyle."

Unlike any other culture, "African influence can be found in American music and dance."

All dancers start from humble beginnings, and "many dances made it into the mainstream spotlight."

Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):

The purpose of this source is to provide a history of american dance and music as it is so greatly influenced and shaped by african culture. From the beginnings of slavery, to the popularity of dance moves, to small stages, to big audiences, to new dance styles, to the entertainment industry we see today. The movement we see in modern dance styles today with dance companies as well as with musical artists is immensely african based.
Credibility of Source:
Author or Site: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the site. What is the purpose of the site? Who funds the site?

The source is credible because it provides historical evidence to prove how dance has evolved and how African culture has been a catheter for that.

Attachment: Does the author or site have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative? For example, is it a cigarette business posting an article about the benefit of cigarettes, or is it a scientific community unaffiliated with the cigarette business?

The author does not benefit from this, it is simply informational. Although it mentions a movie  that tells the story of the timeline displayed on the website. So  perhaps it would get people to buy the series.

Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?

No i do not.
References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility?

Yes, the author makes countless references alluding to historical facts and direct information from primary sources.
Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?

I will use this source to open the history of my project topic, how problems originated from the early years of dance into what problems  remain now.
